Moving to a new city and making new friends is hard...

We want to make that transition easier, helping young people that have recently arrived in Melbourne settle in and make new mates.

Here’s what we’re doing about it

Kevin Mitchell, the Jebediah frontman who also sings solo under the pseudonym Bob Evans, and I are launching Music With Mates. Music

With Mates is a new initiative that will connect new migrants with their community by taking them to gigs for free.

Already, many musicians and venues have donated tickets to their gigs for our project.

We use the donated tickets to take small groups of new migrants and young Australians to a series of 3 or 4 gigs together. This way, they get to enjoy themselves, listen to some great music and establish friendships.

You can help us

We are committed to keeping our costs to an absolute minimum and our team all work on a volunteer basis. However, we need funds to cover our overheads such as our website, email address, insurances and administration costs. Any additional funds we raise will go into helping expand the program to more people and into making it an even better experience for our participants.

Thank you!

Your support means the world to us. It shows the world and new migrants here that Australians are kind, generous and welcoming people.
