Bringing sunshine to the lives of mothers and children who become sick at birth is something that Rotarians feel strongly about. Whether it's a nurse with a ready smile and a hug, a caring environment to learn about how to face the challenges of being a new mum or the latest, safest equipment to hand, all are important.
In regional Victorian hospitals hugs and smiles are in ready supply but cutting edge equipment and facilities are sometimes missing due to the ever shrinking public purse. Whilst regional hospitals in Victoria do a wonderful job, with better equipment and facilities they can do more. The Goulburn Valley Hospital in Shepparton has a critical need for modern, cutting edge equipment at cost of $7500.
In Wodonga, The Parents and Babies Support Unit at the Wodonga Campus of Albury/Wodonga Health is being established to provide more intensive support for families than can be provided within the hospital proper. This unit, being new, also has a shortage of many items of medical and associated equipment also at a total cost of $7 500 .
Rotary International District 9790 (which includes the Goulburn Valley and North East Victoria) has decided to support both these regional hospitals in order to enhance the opportunities for mothers and their babies, after all they are the future of Australia. $15 000 is needed to support this initiative.
All donations make a significant difference for the mothers, babies and families as well as the staff on the wards.
Your gift and support will make the biggest difference at the very beginning of life.
